WHERE ARE YOU INSTALLING YOUR SAFE?
Buying the safe is one thing, but the journey where the safe is going and its final resting place is the next half of the battle. It is best to keep your safe in a climate controlled setting. This will help prevent any type of humidity inside the safe. There is nothing wrong with garages or shops, as long as they are climate controlled or you have a dehumidifier rod inside of your safe. The journey to the safe's final location is something you need to keep in mind. Hallways, door frames, and step-ups are all factors that come into play. Manufacturers always measure the safe from edge to edge. They usually do not account for the hinges, dials, and spokes in their depth measurement. We always tell customers that it is best to add 2.5 - 3 inches to the depth of the safe's exterior measurement. You would hate to get a safe to a doorway that is too narrow, preventing it from entering the desired room.
